"By small and simple things, great {marriages} are brought to pass!
If an apple a day can keep the doctor away, then a kind deed a day will give you a healthier and happier marriage. Now, that IS a great thing!

food for thought

I've been thinking this morning about where our duty lies.  I read a bit in the August Ensign...maybe that's why I've been thinking about duty.  There are few articles that.

THIS is one of them. It is written about President Monson.  So, there are lots of quotes from him. I retrieved the apples for the week from it.

"Often small acts of service are all that is required to lift and bless another: a question concerning a person's family, quick words of encouragement, a sincere compliment, a small note of thanks, a brief telephone call.  If we are observant and aware, and if we act on the promptings which come to us, we can accomplish much good."

I know when I think about service I automatically have an image of anywhere but my home.  Well, according to President David O. McKay, "no other success can compensate for failure in the home".  I am not saying that we shouldn't serve others, I'm just saying that the counsel we received from President Monson applies within our own homes as well.  We are all fighting a hard battle and we should be each other's biggest supporters!

In this same article it says, "He believes that friendship makes serving others easy.  "A friend is more concerned about helping people than getting credit.  A friend cares.  A friend loves.  A friend listens.  And a friend reaches out."

If you haven't already noticed I haven't been posting as much. :)  I'm only going to do a Monday post for a bit.  This is the most important in my book.  I'm feeling spread a little thin these days.  So, I hope this gives you food for thought on how to serve your spouse and be a better friend to them.

I hope you have a week full of moments worth remembering. :)
This picture makes my heart skip a beat!
