"By small and simple things, great {marriages} are brought to pass!
If an apple a day can keep the doctor away, then a kind deed a day will give you a healthier and happier marriage. Now, that IS a great thing!

Yesterday was our Stake Conference.  We have such a good Stake President.

His counsel if you have discord in your marriage was simple.

Respect their opinion.  You don't have to agree, just respect it.  They are entitled to have a differing opinion that you.  Often, that is a good thing.

His whole talk was about respect.  We show respect in the way we acknowledge a person.
D&C 38: 24 And let every man aesteem his brother as himself, and practise bvirtue and holiness before me.

He pointed out Christ's teachings on respect.  "Any man can love those that love him.  Love thy enemy.  Bless them that curse you."

Recognize and remember that ALL of us need Christ and His atonement.

The Apples for the week:

Treat your spouse with respect.

Ask for things.  Don't demand them.

Appreciate what they do.

Do your duty...even if they aren't doing theirs.

Love them.  Show love...even if they don't return it.  BUT, if they return it, enjoy it!!!

Go the extra mile.

All these things mean something different to everyone.  I really hope that we will be the companions that we want...without expecting that in return.  Just doing what we know we should do.  We will be held accountable for what we do...not what our spouse does or doesn't do.

Have a great week!!!
