that title makes me sing the song in my head from Fox and the Hound. Know it?
okay, do you know how you learn best? i am such a visual person. tell me about it all day. if i can visualize it, i do so much better.
so, when i hear, "be your spouse's best friend", i picture in my head what that looks like.
in my life, looking/acting like Zach's best friend is:
* talking nice.
* telling him about things that are funny and important.
* doing something for him that he'd appreciate...shine his shoes, clean out his car (this is a big one!), make a delish meal, not making desert or eating it in front of him (as he is doing p90x)...
*then there is the wife stuff he appreciates...look good for him, act like it is for him, appreciate the things he does...
* be loyal. don't talk bad about him or what he does behind his back. support him in what he does when he is there and when he isn't.
I totally LOVE this quote by Elder Holland from October's Conference, "The crowing characteristic of love is always loyalty". Isn't that so true!? To stand by someone no matter what is not an easy task, but love isn't always easy.
When I go out or plan to go out with friends, I openly tell them that I am so looking forward to it, (or something like that), I can do the same thing for Zach. I do look forward to time with him. I should plan time that is fun and can be positively anticipated.
how does this sound to you? what would you add? how about this for a bundle of apples for your week?! what are you going to do at least once?
