"By small and simple things, great {marriages} are brought to pass!
If an apple a day can keep the doctor away, then a kind deed a day will give you a healthier and happier marriage. Now, that IS a great thing!

I love apples

this is apple season you know.  i love em.  sliced, diced, juiced, smashed...okay, i don't like em smashed but my kids do.  i do love apple crisp and apple pie and apples and cinnamon sugar and fresh, they are fabulous fresh.  my mouth is watering.

there are great ways to use apples.  something for everyone wouldn't you say?

when they are in their season, i like to bottle them in different ways and pull them out to use later on throughout the year.  i know that not everyone does this.  consider this analogy though.  just humor me. :)

when things are good in your marriage, live it up.  winter will come.  times get hard, life happens.  it is at those times you've used what you've stored.  you reminisce on better times, you laugh at old jokes, you revisit where you've been before in body or memory.  i think being able to revisit good times is a shot in the arm of gratitude for times past.  i love thinking of the things Zach and i have done.

our screen saver on our computer is a random shuffle of pictures.  it switches between pics of something from last week to six years ago.  i love that!  i do really watch those pictures and feel so very grateful for the good life we've had, albeit, hard sometimes.

so, consider this, if this time in your life is harder than you'd like, find ways to feel grateful for what you've had before.  in the moment, it can be hard to be grateful for what is right now.  any gratitude is better than no gratitude.

if now is pretty smooth sailing, gear up! :)

here are some apples for this week:

* set up a date night!  call the sitter or arrange a swap with friends.

* go to bed at the same time.

* pray together

* remember those thank you notes!  be grateful for specific things everyday!!! (feel free to remind them of something they did long ago that you're still grateful for)

* load the dishwasher. :)

* help them with a project they are working on.

* shoulder rub...foot rub...kiss them

* owe them a back rub?  now is as good a time as any!

I hope you have a great week!
