okay, background first.
zach and i have had a full plate for the last,... like forever, it feels like! we have maintained a good amount of communication through it all. we have kind off put friendship, romance and fun somewhere on the back burner though. we, more often than not, will talk business, you know about all the "stuff" that is going on and forget to have fun together. this is easy to do and i am just assuming that we are not the only ones that get caught in this trap every now and again.
therefore, the suggestion...or a few.
make it a point to not talk about "stuff" first when you call or when you see them. pay them a compliment on how they look, smell, feel, or how totally awesome they are and how lucky you are to be theirs.
try playing a game at the end of the day. you know, war, go fish, slap jack, leg wrestling, anything!
or if you've seen something of interest to them during the day, print it, write it down and talk about that or show it to them. if you didn't see anything of interest, try looking for something...just make it a positive thing! -not politics! oh gosh, politics! :)
don't forget about their struggles though. give them encouragement through notes and words and remember to pray for them...when they hear you and when they don't. you can and should be their number one fan!
oh and remember to find things to be grateful for! that will make such a difference if we do that every. single. day.
